IR-2016-11, January 29, 2016 — The IRS joins partners across the country in promoting the Earned Income Tax Credit on EITC Awareness Day, Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, a nationwide effort to alert millions of low and moderate-income workers who may be missing out on this significant tax credit.

IR-2016-10, Jan. 28, 2016 — The IRS today reminded taxpayers that it issues 90 percent of refunds in less than 21 days and that the best way to check on their refund is through the “Where’s My Refund?” tool at IRS.gov or the IRS2Go phone app.

IR-2016-9, January 22, 2016 — Missouri storm victims will have until May 16, 2016 to file their returns and pay any taxes due, the Internal Revenue Service announced today.

IR-2016-8, January 22, 2016 — The IRS today announced the selection of five new members to the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council, which provides an organized public forum for IRS officials and representatives of the public to discuss key tax administration issues.

IR-2016-7, January 21, 2016 — The IRS today announced the selection of six new members for IRPAC.

IR-2016-06, Jan. 15, 2016  — IRS and Free File Alliance launch Free File today; about 70 percent of taxpayers are eligible to use the free tax software.

IR-2016-04, January 11, 2016 — In coordination with the state revenue departments and the tax industry, the IRS today released the first in a series of YouTube videos that provide people with tips for protecting their tax and financial data.

IR-2016-03, Jan. 7, 2016 — The IRS reminds U.S. taxpayers living abroad and other international taxpayers that IRS.gov is the best starting place for getting answers to their important tax questions. Six new YouTube videos on common issues affecting international taxpayers are also available.

IR-2016-2, January 7, 2016 — Mississippi storm victims will have until May 16, 2016 to file their returns and pay any taxes due, the Internal Revenue Service announced today. All workers assisting the relief activities who are affiliated with a recognized government or philanthropic organization also qualify for relief.
