How to Download Text (.txt) and Braille Ready Files (.brf) Formats

 

Windows Users

  1. Choose a file to download.
  2. Once you select the product, a dialog box will appear and allow you to save the file to your computer. (Some users may not see the dialog box; instead the file will automatically download to your designated download folder.)
  3. Activate the "Save" button.
  4. Select the location where you would like the file saved.
  5. A "Save As" dialog box will display. Activate the "Save" button.
  6. Locate the ZIP file on your computer and right click or press the application key.
  7. From the menu choose “extract all”.
  8. Choose where you want the files to be saved and click the “extract” button or press Alt plus E.
  9. To view the products you’ve downloaded, navigate to the extracted files that you saved on your computer and double click or press enter to open. Some products contain multiple text-only and .brf files to accommodate size.

Apple Users

  1. Choose a file to download.
  2. Once you select the product click or press control plus options (VO) plus space bar.
  3. The file will download to your designated download folder.
  4. Locate the file in folder and press VO plus space bar to unzip.
  5. Locate the appropriate file from the list of unzipped files and press VO plus space bar to open.
