Error

The Secondary Taxpayer date of birth, in STEP 4, does not match the IRS record.

Solution

Make sure you enter the correct birth date, in the correct format, in the correct space.

The IRS receives Date of Birth (DOB) information from the Social Security Administration (SSA). Updates occur regularly.

Please call the SSA at 800-772-1213 to determine the correct DOB.

If their records match the DOB you have entered, you will have to determine whether you want to wait for the update to occur and transmit again or mail in your return.

Make the correction(s) and resubmit.

If you are making a payment, you may have to re-date Step 3, Payment Options.
