March 2, 2021 For over 50 years, volunteers have prepared tax returns in communities across the country through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly programs. These programs may be available at a location near you. Generally, VITA can provide you free tax help if you earn $57,000 or less. TCE also offers free tax help but focuses on tax issues unique to seniors. Due to the ongoing pandemic, some sites will offer virtual help in place of face-to-face assistance.
