Nov. 26, 2024

Protect yourself from misinformation and scams by following the IRS verified social media accounts, and be wary of inaccurate tax advice from social media influencers that can lead to bad consequences.

Follow the IRS on these platforms:

  • X – Updates in multiple languages. The handle @IRStaxsecurity shares information to help you avoid common scams.
  • Facebook – General tax info in English and Spanish.
  • Instagram – Info on a variety of topics.
  • YouTube Videos on specific tax topics in multiple languages including American Sign Language.
  • LinkedIn – Job opportunities and key agency communications.

The IRS will never contact you on social media to ask for personal or financial information.
