This report provides the earliest published annual financial statistics obtained from the various types of tax and information returns filed, as well as information from periodic or special analytical studies of particular interest to students of the U.S. tax system, tax policymakers, and tax administrators. Featured articles Partnership Returns, Tax Year 2022 PDF by Ron DeCarlo, Tuba Ozer-Gurbuz, and Nina Shumofsky Partnerships filed over 4.5 million returns for Tax Year 2022, a 0.7% increase over the number filed for 2021. These returns represented more than 28.8 million partners, a 6.0 % decrease from the previous year. Limited liability companies (LLCs) made up the majority of partnerships (72.7%), surpassing all other entity types for more than two decades.
